Discover® Digital Design Language & System 2.0

Developed alongside a core team of UI designers, UX researchers, and key client partners – the Discover® Design Language & System 2.0 (DDLS 2.0), dubbed Radiant, was engineered and designed to be a category-leading, accessibility-minded design system.

Radiant is slated for a 2025 release with updated native-app and browser user experiences.

THE BUILDING BLOCKS

Radiant (DDLS 2.0) improved and expanded upon many of the foundational elements of the 1.0 design system, not only to meet our accessibility goals but also to empower designers and other authors to create fresh new experiences.

New colors were added to the library, including accent colors and utility colors. Component structures were standardized from typography styles to spacing and border radii – all to create a cohesive, unified system.

ATOMS, MOLECULES, AND MORE

I contributed in researching and designing components from start to finish in an agile environment that also included UX research, user testing, and a review phase from key stakeholders. The final design was then handed over to the production team for development and implementation.

THE END RESULT

FCB Chicago partnered with Discover® to design and develop a brand new iteration of their digital design system. Over 30 components were created, each with unique variants, behavior, guidance and documentation. The result was a robust UI library with bespoke builds for iOS, Android and for browser experiences.
